On to Cache Creek!

Aug 25, 2013

NO pix today - allergy bothering me, and rain all day on the way from Smithers to just South of Prince George - at BeeLazee park - (stayed one night) $29.00 per night, FHU, wifi not TOO bad, but no TV and at that point the blogger site was still down, so could not post...

August 26, 2013

We left our campground South of Prince George and headed on down the road to Cache Creek - Beautiful Rolling hills and Sunny most of day.. this field is big round bales of straw, and we saw lots of cattle along the way - reminds me very much of Montana.

LOVED this old cabin, abandoned long ago - I am going to frame this when we get home...

Along the way we spied 2 deer by the road - FIRST ones we have seen!  Please excuse the out of focus/through the windshield photo!

Love the WILD clouds!

Came across an antique shop with an owner with a GREAT sense of humor!!!

And as for THESE Dudes, If I remember correctly, it was in the town of Williams Lake. I am sure I MISSED several more of them!!  DARN!

Several SMALL lakes were outside of town along our journey.. We had lunch at a pullout with this one next to us...

Got into our Campground at Cache Creek (Brookside Campsite) in the afternoon, $39.00 FHU, wifi not bad, cable not so good.  We got set up for just the one night and ran back to a Winery we had seen on our way in.   Beautiful Hydrangeas are just starting to turn.
Did some wine tasting and settled on a bottle of Blueberry wine...

Entrance to the winery. Rolling hills beyond the driveway.

Nice place, wine moderately priced and small lunch room, for great sounding sandwiches!

Pots of pretty flowers here and there!

The rolling hills behind the buildings.

And even a couple of antique wagons out front - What TALES they could tell!

Last Roses of the Summer......

Left there and went back into town to a gift shop and GUESS WHAT??  MY First CAR!  (well not REALLY my first, but mine WAS a 57 chevy!  - it wasn't as pretty a color as this one... tried to talk the owner into letting me take it for a spin - but he was not too KOOL with that..... DURN!  Be STILL MY HEART!!!!!!  I would trade my CADDY for THIS!! LOL!

The Center of town......

On to Chilliwack area to Camperland in Rosedale - part of a Resort and priced ACCORDINGLY!

Will be showing pix of that....

Great wifi here, so REALLY getting caught up!!!!

Market Day and Twin Falls at Smithers.

August 24, 2013

Up and out the door early, as it was Market Day in Smithers, just a few miles from our campground, and THIS is the sight that greeted us when we rounded the bend to head into Smithers..  BEAUTIFUL colors of the mountain emerging from the early cloud cover.

Here are a couple of pictures of the downtown areas, SUCH friendly folks, and so helpful give us info on interesting things to see!

And ALWAYS with the flowers!!!! EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

We only bought a few vegetables at the Market Day booths - and Den got some FAB home made cookies! (or course he did.....)
But we did hit the shops and met some more great local people! One of them actually gave us the info about the Twin Falls.

And at the entrance to the town, These 2 sculptures......

And another one of my favorite sights.... on the way out to Twin Falls, one of the local spots to hike up to...

Crossed one of the creeks fed by the Twin Falls.

One of the Falls!

Easy hike up the trail to get closer!

These falls are not far apart, so can be viewed at the same time..

Here are both of them.

And then down to a lake fed by those falls and the River.

On the way back to the campground from the Falls area, Den spotted an Eagle's nest.

A sculpture in town (actually wood carving ) in the downtown area.

Some thistle blooms behind our camper.... along the river.

And so, this ended our visit to the Smithers Fort Telkwa area...

I am STILL catching up, so STAY TUNED!!!!!!
