Blue Lake to Miss Martha!

Sept 23, 2013

Left our campground at Blue Lake, and traveled down the road to Columbia, California at Marble Quarry and got to spend a bit of time with Martha Wilson - and she is as Sweet as ever!  I sure have missed her!  We were SO busy finding the great Thrift Stores around her and even found a bit of time to go out for a few meals at the local WONDERFUL restaurants!   We caught up on our lives since we last met and had some GREAT "Girl Time"!! Den stayed home (at our campground) and caught up on our laundry (I am ONE LUCKY GAL!!!!)

Sad thing is:  I TOTALLY forgot to take pix of us when we were together!!!!  Way too short of a visit, for sure!!!!! (ALSO: sorry to have missed seeing our Friends, Patty and Torben, missed them by one DAY!  BUMMER!  Hoping to see them soon.....

Said our Goodbyes to Martha and got as many hugs as we could, and we headed down the road on Sept 25, and saw some BEAUTIFUL Scenes of a small area of the Wine country!  Rolling hills, dotted with Vineyards and Wineries along the way down to Yellowstone area!  I can see where the "Plen Air" painters found  their inspiration...

We saw many, many fields of crops, nut trees, fruit trees, etc. along the way.

And this Mountain range just seems like the inspiration for a Painting...........

Below is a bit of the Sacramento skyline....

And more gently rolling hills and ranches along the way.

This is the "Butte Store", long since abandoned.....  No longer has a roof ......

We came across this sign at a bridge, which was built to cross the River,

Curiously, the Capstones all along the retaining wall, were capped with Precious rocks... Turquoise, Copper, Petrified wood, and a very sparkly green stone....

The Bridge over the waterway.

Petfified wood used as a capstone for the Retaining wall.....

A caprock that was half black granite, half turquoise rock...

This is the waterway and bridge to the right.....

Tonight we are at the Yellowstone KOA for 3 nights.....

Will be exploring Yosemite in the next two days! Can't WAIT!!!!!!

SO:  as I ALWAYS SAY:  STAY TUNED!!

It took me over 12 hours to post these pictures and get them on the blog, so it will probably a couple of days before I can post pix of our FAB Yosemite  Visit!!!!!  Our Dear Friend, Don Wilson, was our tour guide as he lives just a few hours away, and has been here MANY times! He knew the BEST places to go for prime photo opps!
