Pulled out of McMinnville and headed on down the scenic road to Winchester Bay, thanks to friends from our RV club who have done this route previously! BEAUTIFUL drive, BTW: and Beautiful day FOR the drive! This is just ONE of the pictures that came out well, with all of the curves, hills and 55 mph. journey...
We got to Winchester Bay after a short trip from McMinnville, set up our camp at Winchester Bay (RIGHT ON THE BAY!!!)
We then went into Reedsport, the nearest town. Such a NEAT town!! VERY crafty folks
there, with woodcarving shops, and hand made items... LOVED it! These pictures are just a SMALL portion of what we saw and admired as we explored!
Some were Whimsical, Some very creative and some just plain FUN! Also went into a Myrtlewood gift shop, which had All sorts of carvings as well as things made of burls, and they let me go into the Way, way back room and see the "in the rough" pieces for sale, including blanks and raw burls and raw slabs.... HEAVENLY!! they got some of my money.... we do NOT have anything like that in good ol Illinois!!!! LOL!
At one of the Galleries, a nice lady suggested the Pineapple Grill at the Country club for EXCELLENT dinners, so we had ours there. I had Blackened shrimp, and Den had Prime Rib - we just cannot seem to get our fill of BOTH!!!! LOL! We could only eat half, so that gave us another meal.....
We returned to our campsite on the Bay, in time for a nice chat with another RV club member (they are kind of Lurkers! they told us!!! lol! Hoping they will speak up - very nice folks !!
We stood and talked as the sun was setting on ANOTHER beautiful day!!
And on down to road to our NEXT stop, Destination CALIFORNIA and the Redwoods area at Klamath!!
MORE TO COME!!!!!!
