McMinnville and the Spruce Goose!

Sept.16, 2013

Got into McMinnville in the early afternoon - short trip from Portland!  Hit a HUGE antique mall in an old School House at Lafayette along the way - I was REALLY a good girl so left all but on small thing there.......

Our Campground in McMinnville was very nice, with plenty of room between sites.

The Evergreen Air and Space Museum was right next door!  Den was THRILLED To be able to go and see all of the displays - He spent the whole day there.

This plane was the Vice President's plane and had JUST been moved here.

And this is the beginning of the Star of the show!
This is the plaque for the Spruce Goose, Howard Hugh's invention..

Den took the VIP tour and got to crawl up into the cockpit...
This HUGE plane is inside  here right in the front of the building..

The other planes inside are DWARFED by the size of this monster...

This is the water Park in the same complex as the museum building.
The 747 on top of the building is where you can get into and then slide down into the water! LOL

And he took a picture of this rose at the entry, for ME!  He knows how much I love roses!

And this was the sunset on our second and last evening here... BEAUTIFUL!
I stayed back at the camper while he was exploring there and baked a 'Sirloin Tip" roast, a 20# ham and caught up on the last several days of posts...

And now, on to Winchester Bay!

Trying to catch up here!!!!!!!

                       STAY TUNED!!!!!!
